Training instructors for in-house first aid training
More and more businesses are choosing to provide their own first aid training in-house both for financial and logistical reasons.
High staff turnover and shift work make ensuring compliance with first aid at work regulations a time consuming and expensive problem when outsourcing training requirements.
This is often due to having to arrange for a minimum number of staff to attend to attract discounts or booking staff individually on courses that they fail to attend for a variety of reasons.
Providing your own training means that you choose the dates and times for the training to suit your own company's requirements.
If you need to be able to train HSE Approved Courses such as the new EFAW Emergency First Aid at Work Course, the Three Day First Aid in the Workplace Course and the Two Day HSE Refresher Course the course needed would be the First Aid at Work Instructor.
This course can be run over two or five days, the number of days you would need to attend is dependent on previous first aid or medical experience and the level of confidence of each individual candidate, we recommend that all canidates attend the full five days to get the most benefit from the course if possible regardless of qualifications and experience, therefore the price for the course remains the same whether they complete the course in 2, 3 or 5 days.
To check how many days your staff member would need to complete please call

When your staff member has completed the first aid at work instructor training you can register with ITG or you can register with an Awarding Body.
Both options will enable you to train your staff using your own Registered Centre, certifying under licence of an HSE Approved Centre, this will ensure that you are fully compliant with the latest HSE Regulations.
Once your facility application has been approved (normally within a week or two of application) you can start teaching the full range of HSE Approved Courses.
ITG do not charge a fee for registration and there are no annual fees, our instructor certificates do not expire every 3 years and you will not have to pay out more money to us for retraining.
All Instructors who teach First Aid at Work courses have to undergo an annual update under HSE Regulations, we can help you to find a local instructor in your area or if you prefer you can come back to ITG and complete your update with us free of charge.
We will give you all the support you need to ensure that you comply with regulations and all updates to our training materials are available for free download from our website so you know that you will always be teaching using up to date information.
Pre-Designed Training Materials
One of the biggest concerns that companies have when making the decision to change to in house first aid is the time and effort it will take to design the first aid courses and whether the quality of the training will cover all of their responsibilities under the Health and Safety Legislation.
The training system we provide is HSE Approved and includes a comprehensive Instructor Manual with detailed course guides and notes, PowerPoint presentations for the courses, in fact the system is totally pre-designed and approved and when the candidate attends their training they will be taught how to use a fully ready to teach system.
The courses that you teach cover all of the requirements of the HSE First Aid at Work Regulations and you will issue your staff with an HSE approved certification.
