Train the Trainer AED- Defibrillator Trainer

The AED Instructor Training module is included Free with our combined course and our first aid at work instructor and assessor course.

Please note that this is not available as a stand-alone course it is only available with our First Aid at Work Instuctor, combined and PTLLS courses

AED (Automated External Defibrillation) is now known to play a vital part in improving a casualty's chance of survival. For this reason it's use is becoming far more widespread across the UK. You will now see AED units at Airports, in shopping centres, sports centres and large businesses.

This in turn has dramatically increased the demand for AED trainingcourses over the past few years.

The AED Instructor Training Course can be taught as an add on to the First Aid Courses you will be learning to teach.

Sudden Cardiac arrest is a leading cause of death in Europe, affecting about 700,000 individuals every year.

The scientific evidence to support early defibrillation is overwhelming, the delay from collapse to delivery of the first shock is the single most determinate of survival.

The AED Course is one which as an instructor you will find a pleasure to teach as you will find that your students find the topic fascinating and informative and it gives you the opportunity to give real value as part of your course.

 

Course Content

  • Ensuring the safety of the victim, bystanders and yourself
  • Checking to see if the victim is unresponsive and not breathing properly
  • Teaching students the correct sequence of actions when using an AED using the AED Algorithm
  • Correct pleacement of the pads
  • The difference in placement of pads for adults, children and infants
  • How to explain the voice commands
